Who we are

InstantDry Carpet Cleaning (“InstantDry”, “we”, “us”) is a trading name of Avalon Links Ltd, registered in England & Wales. We provide carpet, upholstery, rug, leather, mattress and car seat cleaning across England, Wales and Scotland.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which explains how we handle it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information we collect

When you request a quote or book a clean, we may collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address and/or phone number (at least one is required to reply)
  • The service address or area to be cleaned
  • Details you provide about the job, such as room count, fibre type or stains
  • Any notes, messages or correspondence you send us by form, email or WhatsApp

We also collect limited technical data automatically, such as your device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you view, through analytics cookies.

We do not collect payment card details through this website; payment is arranged directly with your technician or by invoice.

How and why we use your information

  • To prepare and send your quote, arrange appointments and deliver the cleaning service you requested (lawful basis: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one).
  • To respond to enquiries, complaints and follow-up questions (lawful basis: legitimate interests in running our business and supporting customers).
  • To keep records for accounting, insurance and tax purposes (lawful basis: legal obligation).
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it (lawful basis: consent, via analytics cookies).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.

Cookies and Google Analytics (GA4)

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), provided by Google, to measure how visitors find and use our pages. GA4 sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>) and collects information including pages viewed, session duration, referring website, device and browser type, and a truncated IP address used to estimate general location.

This data is pseudonymised — it is not used by us to identify you personally, and we never upload your name, email or phone number to Google Analytics. Google acts as our processor for this data and may transfer it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can opt out at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings, using private browsing, or installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to request a quote or book a clean.

Essential cookies may also be used to keep the site secure and functioning; these cannot be disabled without affecting the site.

Who we share your information with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

  • Our technicians and staff attending your job
  • Service providers who host our website, database and email systems, acting under contract as our processors
  • Google, for website analytics as described above
  • Professional advisers, insurers or authorities where we are legally required or permitted to do so

How long we keep your data

  • Quote requests that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Customer and job records: 6 years after the last service, to meet accounting, tax and insurance obligations.
  • Website analytics data: retained by Google for up to 14 months.
  • Email and WhatsApp correspondence: up to 24 months unless it forms part of a customer record.

How we protect your data

Your information is stored on secured, access-controlled systems with encryption in transit. Access is limited to team members who need it to quote, schedule or deliver your service.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
  • Request deletion of your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to how we process your data
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing relies on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email instantdrycarpetcleaning@gmail.com or call 07555 856988. We will respond within one month, free of charge in most cases.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
